Southern Highlands Artist

About Me

A self-taught artist, Annie’s experience growing up in the countryside has formed her love of the landscape.  In a landscape, there is always something going on to keep
the audience is always on their guard seeing new things.
This is Naive Art, nothing has perspective and there is no sun direction.
My paintings are usually out of my  imagination, sometimes a landmark might trigger a painting but the story may be made up.
Ceramics has been a great love and I usually make by hand building functional vessels and paint my paintings on the ceramic piece.
I have a studio in the backyard of our Bowral house and venture out there nearly every day.  Just love it!

Naïve Art

Naïve art is often seen as outsider art which is without formal training or degree. While this was true before the twentieth century, there are now academies for naïve art. Naïve art is now a fully recognized art genre, represented in art galleries worldwide.
